Hi music lovers, today I want to tell you how the King of Pop, Michael Jackson has been capable of creating some pieces of fine art by integrating pop music with classical music and visual arts. I will discuss deeply this topic and the meaning he gave to the outcome of this magistral work and the craftsmanship behind these works of art!! Let us start with this analysis!!
It was between the end of the 80s and the beginning of the 90s when Michael Jackson began to create his third studio album, Dangerous and among all the songs we can find in this work Will You be there is characterized by a very peculiar incipit/introduction. Honestly thinking about the Dangerous album as whole, we could have expected to listen to something more oriented to pop and RnB but Michael Jackson loved to surprise the public and his fans, so he decided to add âWill You be thereâ to the album as the 11th track. As we all know Michael Jackson was an eager lover classical music. Not only did Michael appreciate this music genre but he also had a deep knowledge of it and was a keen connoisseur of classical music and all its artists. Additionally Michael Jackson was blessed with such a brilliant mind, and his creative genius took him to use such a monumental incipit in the song I mentioned. Regarding the introduction to this masterpiece, Michael used the last part of Beethovenâs Symphony 9 in D Minor (op. 125), most commonly known as Ode to Joy. As I said Michael had an extremely precise knowledge of classical music, for this reason I can affirm that he had a precise motivation to use that precise segment of the Symphony. Therefore the most accurate question should be: Why would Michael use that segment of the 9the Symphony? Why did he choose Beethovenâs 9th Symphony? In my opinion the King of Pop was extremely aware of the deep meaning contained in the Symphony which gets along extremely well with the lyrics of Will You Be there. To understand better this topic and to have a better view of the reason why Michael used Beethovenâs 9th Symphony Ode to Joy for the introduction to his song, we need to discuss about the story of the Symphony, and its meaning!! Friedrich Schiller wrote the Ode to Joy in 1772 and in 1808 this poem was released. Beethoven composed the Symphony 9 in D Minor between 1822 and 1824. Regarding Schillerâs Ode to Joy, as we can see from its words, it is a hymn to peace, love for one another, joy and freedom. On the other hand, Beethoven for the last movements of the Symphony chose to take Schillerâs poem and transform it into music, for the fact that it was putting into words the composer ideals values, such as freedom, love, brotherhood and friendship. The outcome of the Symphony 9 in D Minor is therefore a monumental hymn to peace, love for one another, friendship and brotherhood. We also need to take into consideration the historic time the Symphony and the poem were composed and written: it was the 19th century which corresponded to the Romantic age, so we canât be surprised about all the values and ideals these two works are expressing!! Going back to Will you be there by Michael Jackson, after this brief analysis of Ode to joy, we can affirm that Michael Jackson was aware of what the Symphony stood for, so he decided to use it to introduce Will you be there. In addition as a big fan of Michaelâs, I can say as i mentioned, that all the values and ideals he stood for such as peace, love, brotherhood and freedom especially, are extremely evident and clear in this song and since Michael shared the same values and ideals expressed in the Symphony, here it is the reason why he elected the Ode to Joy to craft the introduction to his song, for example in Michaelâs words âBut they told me/A man should be faithful/And walk when not able/And fight till the end/But Iâm only humanâ in these few lines it is clear that the artist was asking for freedom, another example of how this song is expressing a message of love and friendship âCarry me/Like you are my brother/Love me like a mother/Will you be there?/When weary/Tell me will you hold me/When wrong, will you scold me/When lost will you find me?â. As we can see the lyrics of this masterpiece are extremely eloquent, and clear.
Moreover, we can listen to how Michael used classical music in some other works of his, and another relevant example is Little Susie/PieJesu. This is another brilliant example of how classical music not only is used for the introduction of the song but also as an integration of this work, which has contributed to impart the song a more impactful meaning. The Symphony Michael used for the incipit to this song is the Requiem (Op. 9) : V Pie Jesu by Maurice DuruflĂŠ. As we can listen, Michael has used his own variation of the 9th movement of this Requiem. In his version, the Michael Jackson used a children choir instead of a single voice to execute this movement of the Requiem, but he kept the main melodies anyway, which is extremely important because in my opinion great melodies should never be changed!! Furthermore as we can see Michael used a Requiem for the incipit and it makes clear for the listener what kind of topic we should expect in this song. Indeed for those who do not know much about classical music, a Requiem is a musical composition or solemn chant in honor of the deceased. The song infact deals with the story of a little girl who was abandoned by her whole family, in Michaelâs words âHer father left home, poor mother died/ Leaving Susie alone/ Grandfatherâs soul too had flown../ No one to care/ Just to love her/ How much can one bear/ Rejecting the needs in her prayersâ, and eventually the little girl after struggling to stay alive, committed suicide by throwing herself down the stairs. I do not believe this song was based on a true story, I would rather believe that little Susie is the personification of all those children who are left alone without anyone to love them. Another significant particular to support my thesis is the last part of this song âNeglect can kill/ Like a knife in your so/ Oh it will/ Little Susie fought so hard to liveâ, from these words we can see why this little girl died. Going back to speak about how the Requiem and Little Susie/Pie Jesu could match, as I mentioned Requiems were used to honor the dead and in my opinion the accuracy of the use of this type of composition to introduce a song that deals with the death of a little girl is extremely brilliant.
Another song in which Michael used classical music for the incipit, is HIStory. The composition the artist used is the piano concerto Pictures at an Exhibition by the russian composer Modest Mussorgsky. Like in Will you be there, there is the need to know about the story of Mussorgskyâs composition, to understand better the reason why Michael used this particular piano concerto to introduce his song. Modest Mussorgsky composed Pictures at an Exhibition as a memorial to his friend, the painter and architect Viktor Hartmann, who died in 1873. After Hartmannâs death, Mussorgsky visited an exhibition of Hartmannâs paintings and architectural studies, and he felt the need to capture that experience in music. The logic of how Mussorgsky piano concerto and Michael Jacksonâs HIStory are connected could possibly seem pretty odd and intricate. In my opinion HIStory by Michael Jackson is an extremely, i would say, visual song for the fact that it is very easy to picture all the lyrics and words Michael is singing, in our minds. Therefore I can affirm that as much as Mussorgsky felt the need to capture and recreate the experience in his music, so did Michael Jackson: he was extremely aware of what was happening around the world and he felt the need to capture all these images in his music as well. This is in my opinion what connects Mussorgsky Pictures at an Exhibition and Michael Jacksonâs HIstory. Moreover we can listen to how Michael Jackson had varied Mussorgskyâs Pictures, and made it more monumental by adding more wind istruments and more drums, anyway he kept each and every melody and harmony. It is pretty mesmerizing to see how well Michael knew classical music and its history, he was such a man of many surpres!!
Moreover not only did Michael Jackson use classical music in his songs, but he also used it within the songs he was performing during his concerts. Indeed in his Dangerous World Tour he used for example some pieces from Carl Orffâs âCarmina Buranaâ which were used just in some dates of the tour. During his HIStoryWorld Tour Michael used the Piano concerto Pictures at an Exhibition by the Modest Mussorgsky. Moreover during the 30thAnniversary Celebration in 2001 at the opening of the concert it was played the composition Fanfare for the common Man by Aaron Copland. Finally during his concert Michael Jackson and Friends in 1999, before his Earth Song the full Symphony Ode to Joy was played. Furthermore as we have seen in many clips taken at Neverland valley ranch, there was always classical music playing through the speaker sistem and one of the main pieces played was Bachâs Sonata for Flute in A minor. In addition in several interviews Michael Jackson said to be a great fan and connoisseur of classical music and among his favorite composers there were Claude Debussy, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov.
To sum up, with this article we have seen how it was possible to inegrate pop music with classical music and craft some creative, original and unique works of art. Safechuck’s mother claimed she danced when Michael Jackson died because he could no longer hurt a child. But Safechuck didn’t realize he was abused until 2013 when he heard Robson was suing the MJ estate for child molestation. Michael passed away in 2009.
Robson claims they visited the Neverland ranch hundreds of times. But in court he said they only visited 14 times and Michael was only there 4 times of those 14 visits, his mother also said this.
Safechuck claims Michael abused him in New York in 1989 after he performed at The Grammys. The Grammys were actually in Los Angeles that year and Michael didn’t perform.
Safechuck claims he spent thanksgiving with Michael at his home in 1987. But Michael was actually in Australia on tour for his 3rd album ‘Bad’ at that time.
Safechuck also claims Michael asked him multiple times to testify in court in 2005 for his defense but declined. Michael’s lawyers gathered their defense, and Safechuck was never asked to testify because he wasn’t one of the people the court wanted to hear from, there were only specific people whom were allowed to testify, a defense by Safechuck was literally banned from the courtroom.
Robson claimed he was forced to testify for Michael’s defense in 2005 because he didn’t want his children to be fatherless and knew Michael wouldn’t survive in prison. He then said he didn’t realize he was abused until 2013.
Safechuck claims Michael took him on a “honeymoon” to Euro Disney in 1988. But Euro Disney wasn’t even opened till 1992.
Safechuck also claims Michael gave him Indiana Jones’ bullwhip, but it was actually donated to the Institute of Archaeology in London in 1990.

I implore each and every one of you to NOT watch HBOâs fictional film that they are trying to pass as a âdocumentaryâ titled âLeaving Neverland.â This propaganda hit piece is based on the falsified claims of molestation by the hands of Michael Jackson.
â#Leaving Neverlandâ depicts two guys fabricating tales of pedophilia that are very grotesque in nature. These men testified on behalf of MJâs innocence, as adults I might add. In 2013, Robson filed a $1.5 billion dollar civil lawsuit/creditorâs claim, along with James Safechuck, who also spent time with Jackson in the late â80s. Safechuck claimed he only realized he may have been abused when Robson filed his lawsuit. That lawsuit was dismissed by a probate court in 2017.
In 2019, the Sundance Film Festival premiered a documentary based entirely on Robson and Safechuckâs allegations. While the documentary is obviously emotionally disturbing given the content, it presents no new evidence or witnesses. The filmâs director, Dan Reed, acknowledged not wanting to interview other key figures because it might complicate or compromise the story he wanted to tell.

No fan of Michael Jackson is here to support the abuse of children! Many are parents themselves and as a collective they would not excuse abuse because they âlike the musicâ or they âlike the way he danced.â The facts are clear, MJ was NOT a child molester.
So after 26 years, a 10 year secret investigation by the FBI, which was released under the Freedom of Information Act, countless departmental investigations and two legal acquittals, MJ is on the stand once again, except this time one created by social media!
Ultimately we are given two options: we can believe our intelligence agencies and due process, or we can believe two proven liars, extortionists, and opportunists.

What A LOT of people forget or donât know, including MJ Fans, is that Californiaâs stature of limitation allowed the â93 settlement and âevidenceâ in the 2005 trial. Jordie was conveniently out of the country. Jordieâs mom testified in the trial where Tom Mesereau ripped her apart. We learned in that 2005 trial that she hadnât even spoken to her son for 11 years up to that point. We also learned that Jordie emancipated himself from his parents and had he showed up, Tom Mesereau had 7 witnesses on standby to testify how Jordy admitted to them that his parents forced him to lie, which is why he emancipated himself from them.
Then there is a lesser known 2 million dollar settlement about tickling that was allowed to enter the 2005 trial as well. The accuser actually did show up to that trial and again was ripped the fuck apart and told 4 different stories in less than an hour while on the stand. Judge Melville even considered charging the accuser right then and there with perjury!
In MJâs absence, his insurance company negotiated and paid both the settlement, over the protests of Michael and his personal legal counsel. Keep in mind that he was in the middle of a tour making everyone involved with that tour MILLIONS of dollars!
On verdict day when âNot Guiltyâ was read 14 consecutive times vindicating MJ of ALL charges, that âNot Guilty,â completely exonerated Michael Jackson for the Jordie settlement, the âticklingâ settlement, and Gavin Arvizoâs fabrications!
Black man vindicated in court. Vindicated by the FBI. Vindicated by two investigations. Vindicated by hundreds of witnesses.
Two white men change their stories after twenty years. Claim they lied under oath. Seek lots of money.

The term âJacko,â didnât arise out of a vacuum, and certainly wasnât meant a term of endearment. The very term is rooted in racism. âJacko Macaccoâ was the name of a famous monkey used in monkey-baiting matches at the Westminster Pit in London in the early 1820s. âJaccoâ was Cockney slang to refer to monkeys in general.
Furthermore, in the United States, blacks use to be referred to as Jackos when whites would claim that you could only see the eyes and teeth of a black person at night. Next time you see news printed calling Michael Jackson âJackoâ or âWacko Jacko,â call them out on their racism.
So when did they start calling Michael Jackson a âJacko?â in 1985 when he bought the ATV/Beatles catalog.

Michael is being used as a scapegoat and headline grabber to keep attention off Harvey Weinstein who is slated to appear in court the week of the release of the documentary. Dan Reed who directed âLeaving Neverlandâ is Weinsteinâs ace in the hole! They are buddies and have been forever!
Our motive is NOT to silence real abuse victims. Please donât misunderstand us.
A culture of victim-shaming/silencing has taken decades to reverse. We want ALL genuine victims to be heard.
When 2 men have been proven to be taking advantage of the current #MeToo sentiment in hopes of a payout from a dead manâs estate, we can not stand for that either.
Believe in due process. believe in our intelligence agencies. Believe that facts donât lie, people do. In this case, those people are Wade Robson and Jimmy Safechuck! Ask yourselves if this film would exist if Michael was alive? The answer is a resounding âno!â Why? Because
there are currently no laws protecting the deceased from defamation. That includes me, you, and #MichaelJackson. Just think, these two perjurers could have been looking dead in the camera and telling the same lies about YOU!

james is a weird kid. there’s really no disputing it, anyone with half a brain and working eyes could see the way he would stand there half awkward, half assured with a look that suggested that he’d always be lost, even if he knew where he was. this is, terry assumes, because james doesn’t really feel he belongs anywhere. home for him is just another location, another dot on another map.
